What is focas leopardo?

Focas Leopardos, also known as Leopard Seals, are large and aggressive marine mammals that are found primarily in the frigid waters surrounding the Antarctic continent and nearby islands. They are named for their spotted coat, which resembles that of a leopard.

Leopard seals are capable hunters, feeding on a variety of prey including fish, krill, and other seals. They are known for their remarkable swimming and diving abilities, and are able to hold their breath for up to 15 minutes while diving to depths exceeding 230 meters.

While leopard seals are not considered a major threat to humans, they are known to occasionally attack humans who venture too close. These attacks are often provoked, and can result in serious injury or death.

Leopard seals are currently categorized as a species of least concern by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, although their populations have been impacted by commercial fishing and other human activities in their habitats.
